“Kevin and Alexandra first officially met in the Athletic Trainer’s Office at The Benjamin School in high school (they both attended Benjamin from Pre-K through 12th grade, who knows if they met even sooner!). It was pre-season training for volleyball and football. Alexandra immediately noticed the senior captain of the football team (serious butterflies), and Kevin noticed the girl in the volleyball shorts. After months of going out and wondering “do we have to ask each other to be boyfriend and girlfriend?!”, they made it official on December 10, 2005, and the rest is history!
Football would bring Kevin to Union College in upstate New York, as Alexandra finished high school and then attended Florida State University in Tallahassee. The distance was not easy, but Kevin was busy with football, his frat, and studies while Alexandra was heavily involved in her sorority and advertising major, the time flew by. The distance made each visit special, with Alexandra visiting Kevin at Union where they made lifelong friends, and Kevin attending Alexandra’s sorority date functions where they tried to remember the friends they hung out with.
After graduating from college, Kevin and Alexandra both found their way back home before Alexandra moved to Gulfport to attend law school at Stetson. Kevin moved in with Alexandra a few months later to attend accelerated nursing school at USF. The stars finally aligned :) (for those who don’t know, Kevin is much, much older than Alexandra, which resulted in Alexandra being years behind Kevin in school). Kevin and Alexandra fell in love with St. Petersburg and purchased their first home after landing their first career jobs.
Kevin proposed to Alexandra on a magical weekend in New York City. Kevin surprised Alexandra with the trip to NYC to celebrate their 12 year anniversary. Unbeknownst to Alexandra, the plan was a surprise engagement in their favorite city. With plans to walk Central Park on Friday afternoon, they started at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir and made their way down the park, stopping at all the landmark sites. Kevin mentioned throughout the day he was looking for his favorite bridge in Central Park. At one point they even passed another couple who got engaged and stopped to take pictures for them. At the bottom of the Park and unable to find the bridge, Alexandra suggested they move on to the zoo. Kevin had other plans, and moments later they arrived at Gapstow Bridge. Kevin stopped to ask a couple to take a photo of them, and secretly gave the couple both phones to photograph and record the moment he proposed to Alexandra. To celebrate, a shaky Alexandra and relieved Kevin went to The Plaza to celebrate with pizza and champagne. The next day Kevin woke up to a screaming Alexandra, it was snowing! The first time she ever saw snow (yes, after years of visiting Kevin in the tundra of upstate New York it never snowed while she was there). It could not have been a more perfect weekend!” - Alexandra
Beautiful winter wedding at the Buie Barn in Brunswick, Georgia! These two are truly special, their love is tangible. Shooting their wedding inspired me greatly, and I left with two new friends!
Dj: DJ FX aka the "big joker"
Their story told by Kristen (bride) “Will and I have known eachother since we were 7 & 8 playing soccer against one another. We both had secret crushes on each other. I used to go home and pray to god that i would marry will. As years went by we stayed friends and occasionally spoke since we went to the same high school. around 2017 we were working out at the same gym together and decided to race, I won and he suprised me with flowers on my car the next day. We dated for a couple months and then took a trip to Sweden Where will was born. On one of the nights we were there will brought me to a hotel his friend built and wanted to show me the roof top bar. after marveling at all the Swedish decor i turned around to see will on his knee asking me to be his wife. It was like a movie, and i wouldn't have had it any other way.”
WILDERLOVE: A love without reservation or premonition. An innocent, childlike love. A love that’s wild and almost instinctual. Sometimes as a photographer, you get really lucky, photographing Dylan and Lauren’s elopement was like watching two souls dance with no one in sight. As I planned this shoot I knew I wanted to use nature as the major inspiration, it’s in nature that we come fully alive. The shoot took place near the rolling hills and farm venues in Asheville, North Carolina just after an afternoon shower, the two shared heartfelt vows and danced the evening away in the crystal clear water.
